Karomana

Karomana
Variants Karoma, Kamama. The name of several queens and princesses of Dynasty 22 and Dynasty 23, the first of which was the wife of Sheshonq I and mother of his heir, Osorkon I. Asecond was the wife of Osorkon II. Another queen, Karomama, was the daughter of Osorkon II’s Prince Nimlot, wife of Takelot II, and mother of the high priest of Amun Osorkon. The motherof Osorkon III was also named Kamama, probably a form of the name. A bronze statue, inlaid with gold, silver, and electrum, of the God’s Wife Karomama is now housed in the Louvre Museum.
